Insect Mounting Workshop – Jungle Nymph vs Scorpion

July 15, 2017 – 7pm to 9pm – Mount your very own jungle nymph or scorpion!

Learn how to mount and display your very own Scorpion (Heterometrus cyaneus) or Jungle Nymph (Heteropteryx dilatata). This workshop is part insect positioning and part taxidermy. These little babies are so large you actually have to stuff them.

The Meddling with Nature crew will show you the ins and outs of preserving, mounting and displaying these pinchy pokey little critters. Meddlers big and small, armed with their new found knowledge, will enjoy this DIY opportunity to mount and take home your very own exotic specimen.

We have never offered a workshop with both these critters available at the same time! Tough decision but you’ll be able to take the techniques to mount either one and apply it directly to the other.

All materials to mount specimen are provided. Frames, bell jars, and wood bases will be available for purchase.

Because of the intensity of the project, we are limited to only 8 seats to ensure that everyone gets our crew’s full attention. Oh, and as usual, wine and beer will be available for participants!
